Bike to work & school day: Bike to Work Day – April 22
Join the City of Tempe on Thursday, April 22 from 6:30 – 8 a.m. for a celebration of the bicycle. All riders receive free breakfast snacks and the first 50 riders at each breakfast site location will receive free T-shirts. Vice Mayor Shana Ellis and the Tempe Bicycle Action Group will lead community rides from each breakfast site location to the Transportation Center. All rides will depart at 7 a.m.
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony: In conjunction with Bike to Work Day, the Tempe Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony at 8 a.m.
Open House: From 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. the Bicycle Cellar will have hourly giveaways, snacks and drinks. Join us that day and register for the giveaways.
2010 Tempe Bike Hero Award Presentation: The Bicycle Cellar was chosen to receive the 2010 Tempe Bike Hero Award. Join Mayor Hugh Hallman as he announces the 2010 Bike Hero Award recipient at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 22 at the Tempe City Council Chambers, 31 E Fifth St.

TEMPE TRAFFIC SKILLS 101 EXPRESS
Join Tempe Bicycle Action Group (TBAG) at THE BICYCLE CELLAR on Saturday, February 20th, for a comprehensive traffic skills class. This 5 hour comprehensive course is taught by a League of American Bicyclists certified League Cycling Instructor. Gain the confidence you need to ride safely and legally in traffic or on the trail. The course covers vehicular cycling concepts, equipment safety checks, on-bike skills and crash avoidance techniques and includes a student manual. Recommended for adults and children above age 14, this fast-paced course prepares cyclists for a full understanding of vehicular cycling. A bicycle in working order & a helmet are required. Please come prepared to ride at least 5 miles, part of the hans on portion is parking lot drills and a road test. If you cannot afford to purchase a helmet, don’t worry, we will have free helmets the day of the course.

2nd ANNUAL ALL-WOMEN, “GIRLS GONE RIDING” BIKE RIDE
Join “GIRLS GONE RIDING”, an all women’s riding group, for the second annual all-women ride.
February 20, 7AM registration, 8AM start.
Choose a casual 15-mile route, 30-mile route or do your first metric century at this all-women, fully-supported ride from Gilbert, Arizona to Usery Pass in East Mesa.
Ride starts from Joe’s Farm Grill parking lot, Ray & Higley Roads, Gilbert, AZ 85224.

New Years Eve bike parking for the Tempe Block Party
The Bicycle Cellar will be offering a special New Years Eve valet bicycle parking for the Tempe Block Party in our secure climate controlled facility. We will remain open untill 2:00 AM on December 31 and are offering bike valet services for $5.00 per bike.
Remember, we’re located in the Tempe Transportation Center, 200 E. Fifth St. suite 105. See our contact page for map and directions. Don’t miss riding to one of the largest New Years party in the nation!

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Bicycle Cellar is staying open until 2 a.m. Dec. 31 and offering special valet bike parking for $5 per bike. The fee includes access to secure, indoor bicycle parking, restrooms and a changing area to freshen up. The Bicycle Cellar is located at the Tempe Transportation Center, Fifth Street and College Avenue in downtown Tempe.
